What is HP Renew and Extended Life Products?
HP Renew is a program that offers HP quality remanufactured covered by the original HP warranty with exceptional price performance. HP Renew is HP's single source for discontinued HP products which are no longer manufactured as new. These are known as HP Extended Life Products.
As an HP 9000 customer, what options do I have now that new HP 9000 is no longer being manufactured?
You have the following two options:
1.Continue the current HP PA-RISC environment, and purchase the upgrades and add-ons from HP Renew program;
2.Migrate from the current HP PA-RISC server(s) to the HP Integrity server(s).
Are HP Renew products eligible for HP service contracts?
Yes, HP Renew products are guaranteed as good as new with full HP Warranty, and they are completely eligible for HP service contract.
What HP End of Life (EOL) Product Families are available from HP Renew?
rp34x0, rp44x0, rp74x0, rp84x0 and Superdome systems and upgrades are offered as Extended Life products in HP Renew portfolio. In addition PA8800 CPU based models from Low-end to Superdome are available from HP Renew as well.
What operating systems will HP Renew provide on their EOL equipment?
The operating systems of EOL equipment are equivalent to new.Software licences are not transferable without authorisation from HP. This means that even if a broker sells EOL equipment that is still currently under license, the customer will not legally be able to use the existing license without authorisation from HP. Only HP can sell software licences for EOL equipment to your customers.
For how long can I get these EOL products from HP Renew?
At least for one year after the discontinuance of equivalent new product (EOL date).
