The Next Generation Blade Computing For The Adaptive Infrastructure

HP Virtual Connect Architecture

"Our servers are static and hardwired - way too inflexible"
Manage devices & connections with more flexibility.

What it means

Utilising an integrated design, HP's Virtual Connect Architecture
only has to be wired once for easy set-up and expandability. LAN/SAN settings are determined up front, so no matter how often things change, you can make the most of your time and resources. Benefits include:

  • Speed - Add, remove and recover servers without wasting days or weeks coordinating LAN and SAN connections.
  • Flexibility - Move resources around as necessary to meet the needs of any given moment.
  • Complexity - Simplify cabling by up to 94% without requiring added switches.

How it works

HP Virtual Connect Architecture modules feature a five-terabyte midplane with eight high-performance interconnect bays in back, full redundancy and the potential to deliver 80GB/sec through each bay.

LAN and SAN connections are available to a pool of up to 64 servers, allowing you to define a server's I/O connections and then independently manage blade servers and their connectivity.

Connections and configuration between server blades and the LAN and SAN can then be deployed at the click of a button, and migrated to another server bay instandtly - all without disturbing the LAN or the SAN settings or administrators.
