Stephen Crane

Stephen Crane works in the HP Trusted Systems Lab in Bristol, UK, where his research focuses on security and trust in personal systems.

Stephen played an integral role in the development of the Trustguide, a UK report that examines where responsibilities lie in making our future ICT-enabled world safer. Currently, he is involved with the EU-funded PRIME privacy project.

Prior to joining HP in 2001, Stephen was a Principal Information Security Consultant at Abbey National Group where for 10 years, his responsibilities covered security architectures and policies, and establishing national (APACS, BSI) and international (ISO) standards for financial sector security. This followed 10 years in UK Government working in various roles in the areas of technical and information security and secure communications.

Stephen holds an Open University Honours Degree (1992) and an MSc in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London (1995).

 
Malcolm Crompton
 
Malcolm Crompton

Malcolm Crompton was Australia’s third Federal Privacy Commissioner, a position he held for five years until April 2004. In this role, he led the implementation of private sector privacy law that commenced in 2001 and hosted the 25th International Conference of Data Protection & Privacy Commissioners in 2003.

Malcolm has advised APEC on the implementation of the APEC privacy framework and has consulted to the OECD, Australian financial institutions and government agencies. In addition, his work on the handling and governance of personal information has earned him a reputation globally as a pre-eminent privacy expert.

Now the Managing Director of Information Integrity Solutions, Malcolm provides advice to the public and private sectors on building trust through excellent data governance.

Andrew Robson

Public Sector Director, Hewlett-Packard (HP) Andrew is HP's Public Sector Director. In this role, Andrew is responsible for all of HP's business across its five main business groups: Enterprise Server and Storage (ESS), Software (SGBU), HP Services (HPS), Personal Systems (PSG) and Imaging & Printing (IPG).

Andrew specialises in all aspects of enterprise transformation and business improvement, from strategy and processes to information technology and human resources. His focus has been on architecting, justifying, planning and delivering complex, multi-disciplinary transformation programs to help clients improve the value they provide to their own customers and stakeholders.

Andrew brings 19 years of experience in Australian federal, state and local government as well as New Zealand central government and other industries such as Energy (generation, transmission and retail), Financial Services, Manufacturing and Health.

Andrew holds a Joint Honours BA/MA from Oxford University and a Russian Language Diploma from Hertzen Institute.
